FAQ

Grass-Fed Halal Bone Broth

Q: Is this really halal?
A: Yes! We use only halal-certified grass-fed beef bones from suppliers who provide full halal certification. The bones come from animals raised ethically and slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines. As a Muslim family business, we understand that halal isn't just a requirement—it's about honoring the food we consume and ensuring it aligns with our values.

Q: Why doesn't it gel solid like fresh bone broth?
A: Great question! After our initial cook, our bone broth gels so solid you can flip the pot upside down—that's proof we've extracted real collagen. However, we then pressure-can it at 240°F to make it shelf-stable (so you can keep it in your pantry, not your freezer). This high heat changes the gelatin structure from solid to thick liquid when refrigerated, BUT all the nutrition remains: the protein, amino acids (glycine, proline, glutamine), and minerals are still there. The collagen peptides are actually more easily absorbed by your body in this form. When you refrigerate it after opening, you'll notice it's noticeably thicker than water—that's the collagen.

Q: How much protein does it have?
A: Our bone broth contains 10 grams of protein per cup (8 oz serving), all from collagen extracted during the initial cook/ simmer. This is higher than most commercial bone broths.

Q: What makes it worth $20 per jar?
A: We simmer for 24 hours (most brands do 4-8 hours), use halal-certified grass-fed bones (not cheap factory-farmed bones), make small batches by hand, and process in a USDA-inspected facility. You're getting genuine bone broth with therapeutic levels of collagen and minerals—not just flavored stock. Plus, you're supporting a Muslim family business that honors traditional food wisdom.

Q: How should I use it?
A:
• Drink it straight: Heat and sip like tea (add a pinch of salt and lemon)
• Cooking: Use instead of water for rice, quinoa, soups, stews, sauces
• Post-workout: Warm cup for recovery and protein
• When sick: Sip throughout the day for easy-to-digest nourishment
• Postpartum: 2-3 cups daily to support healing and milk production

Q: How long does it last?
A: Unopened, our bone broth is shelf-stable for 1-2 years at room temperature. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 7 days for best quality.

Q: Do I need to refrigerate it before opening?
A: No! That's the beauty of shelf-stable bone broth. Keep it in your pantry until you're ready to use it. Only refrigerate after opening.

Q: What's the best way to heat it?
A: Pour desired amount into a pot and heat on the stove over medium heat, OR microwave in a microwave-safe container for 1-2 minutes. Stir and enjoy!

Q: Can my kids drink this?
A: Absolutely! Bone broth is excellent for growing children—packed with protein, minerals for bone growth, and easy to digest. Many kids love it with a pinch of salt, or you can sneak it into their food by using it to cook rice, pasta, or soup.

Q: Is there MSG or any artificial ingredients?
A: No MSG, no artificial flavors, no preservatives. Just bones, water, vegetables (onions, carrots, celery), apple cider vinegar, and spices (salt, pepper, bay leaves). That's it.

Q: What if I'm not satisfied?
A: We want you to love Samson's Kitchen! If you're not satisfied for any reason, please contact us at info@samsonskitchen.com and we'll make it right.

Q: How much am I saving with the 12-pack?

Q: How long will 12 jars last me?

A: It depends on how you use it!

• If drinking 1 cup daily: 12 jars = about 24 days

• If using for cooking (1-2 jars per week): 12 jars = 6-12 weeks

• For a family using it regularly: 12 jars = about 1 month

Most families find that 12 jars lasts 4-6 weeks with regular use.

Q: Can I mix beef and chicken?

A: Absolutely! Just mention in your order your preference of mix, or email info@samsonskitchen.com

Q: Will 12 jars fit in my pantry?

A: Each jar is 14 oz and about 4 inches tall. A case of 12 takes up about the same space as a case of soda. They stack nicely and don't require refrigeration until opened!

Q: Is this a good gift?

A: Yes! Many customers buy cases as gifts for:

• New mothers (postpartum nourishment)

• Muslim families (halal + thoughtful)

• Health-conscious friends

Panjeeri

Q: What is panjeeri?

A: Panjeeri (also spelled panjiri) is a traditional Pakistani/Indian postpartum food—a warming, nourishing mixture of toasted nuts, seeds, whole wheat flour, and ghee. It's been used for centuries to support new mothers during recovery, boost energy, and support milk production. But it's excellent for anyone needing extra nourishment: during illness, in winter, for growing children, or for anyone needing to gain healthy weight.

Q: I'm not postpartum. Can I still eat this?

A: Absolutely! While panjeeri is traditionally made for new mothers, it's beneficial for:

• Winter months (warming, energy-boosting)

• After illness or surgery (supports recovery)

• Children (healthy fats for growth and development)

• Athletes (dense nutrition and energy)

• Anyone needing to gain weight in a healthy way

Q: How do I eat it?

A: Traditional ways:

• By the spoonful straight from the jar (my favorite!)

• Mixed into warm milk (dairy or plant-based)

• Stirred into oatmeal or yogurt

• Alongside warm bone broth (the ultimate healing combo)

• Formed into energy balls (add extra ghee, roll into balls, refrigerate)

Suggested serving: 2-3 tablespoons, 2-3 times daily

Q: What's in it?

A: Our panjeeri contains: whole wheat flour, ghee, almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, poppy seeds, kamar kas, edible gum, organic unrefined cane sugar, and warming spices. Everything is toasted separately, then mixed with love and intention.

Q: Is it very sweet?

A: No. Our recipe is based on my mother's traditional approach: less sweet, more medicinal. It has a gentle sweetness from unrefined sugar, but the focus is on nuts, seeds, and healthy fats—not dessert-level sweetness. If you prefer it sweeter, you can add a drizzle of honey when you eat it.

Q: Is it halal?

A: Yes! We use only halal-certified ingredients, including grass-fed halal ghee. As a Muslim family business, halal is non-negotiable for us.

Q: How long does it last?

A: Stored in a cool, dry place in an airtight container, panjeeri lasts 2-3 months. Some families keep it longer, but for peak freshness and flavor, we recommend consuming within 3 months.

Q: Why does it contain ghee?

A: Ghee (clarified butter) is essential

• Warming and nourishing
• Anti-inflammatory
• Supportive of joint and bone health
• Essential for absorbing fat-soluble vitamins
• Lubricating for the digestive tract

Plus, it's what gives panjeeri its rich, satisfying flavor and helps all the ingredients bind together.

Q: Does it help with milk production?
A: Many ingredients in panjeeri are traditional galactagogues (foods that support lactation): flaxseeds, sesame seeds, and almonds are all believed to support milk production. While everyone's body is different, countless mothers (including me!) have found panjeeri helpful for maintaining abundant milk supply.

Q: Can I eat it if I'm not breastfeeding?
A: Yes! Panjeeri is nourishing for anyone. The lactation-supporting ingredients are just an added bonus—they won't cause any issues if you're not nursing.

Q: I have a nut allergy. Can you make a version without nuts?
A: Unfortunately, nuts are a core ingredient in traditional panjeeri and we can't guarantee no cross-contamination in our facility. However, you could try making a modified version at home using seeds only (sesame, flax, sunflower, pumpkin) and omitting the tree nuts.

Q: Why is it more expensive than regular snacks?
A: Panjeeri is made with premium ingredients (organic grass-fed ghee, raw nuts and seeds, unrefined sugar) and requires hours of labor—every ingredient is toasted separately, cooled, then carefully mixed. You're not paying for mass-produced snack food; you're paying for traditional, handmade medicine in food form.

Q: Can kids eat this?
A: Yes! Panjeeri is excellent for children—it's packed with healthy fats for brain development, protein for growth, and minerals for strong bones. Many Pakistani families give panjeeri to children year-round. Start with small amounts (1 teaspoon for young toddlers, 1 tablespoon for older kids) and see how they like it. Most kids love the nutty, slightly sweet flavor!
